Hello! I am Mr. Lance Powell. I am a 6th grade ELA teacher currently in my 8th year here at McNair Middle School! I also serve as McNair Middle School's Gifted Liaison, which allows me to monitor the progress of the gifted-identified students at McNair!
In the state of Georgia, I am certified to teach Middle Grades Social Studies and Language Arts (4th-8th grades). I also hold Gifted and ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) endorsements.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Emory University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Mercer University. I also hold an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Teacher Leadership from Mercer University.
I am originally from Eastern North Carolina, but grew up in and around Philadelphia. I have lived in Georgia for over 16 years now. When I'm not teaching, I'm usually off somewhere reading. Other activities include binging on Netflix, sleeping, having random adventures around Atlanta, and traveling whenever I can.
